When should I schedule my alterations?
When should I schedule my alterations? We recommend having your first fitting 2-3 months before your wedding date. An alterations specialist will create a specific timeline based on your event date.
How much will alterations cost?
Pricing varies based on the complexity of the alterations, so we'll need to see you in the garment first. Alterations typically range from $300-$600 depending on the level of detail, number of layers, and any customization. Beading and Lace will always cost more. Payment is due at the time of your first fitting. Additional charges apply to rush orders needed within 8 weeks or less.
THE SIDES $50-300
(the bust, waist, hips)
Many times brides need the wedding dress taken in at the sides. Again, lace and beading will increase the amount that taking in the sides of your wedding dress will cost. Additionally, most places charge for how much they need to take the wedding dress in, whether it is just in the bust area, the hips, or along the entire seam… So what does is the average cost for taking in the sides on your bridal gown? From our experience you can estimate anywhere from $50-$300.
THE BUSTLE: $65-150
(Take Your Train Up)
The bustle (picking the back of the bridal gown off the floor so you can bust a move on the dance floor!) If you have a train a bustle is needed. In our experience you should rarely need more than 6 or 7 bustle points. The average price for a bustle based on our experience is $65-$150.
THE HEM $150-250
(the bottom)
The bottom of your bridal gown will almost always need to be shortened. As such the hem is many times much more complicated than it looks. You may see some plastic webbing around the bottom, or feel it in the dress. This is called horse-braid or horsehair, and as a result of that little bit of plastic your price is higher. Have more layers with it? You will be charged more. Have a layer of lace on your bridal gown down there? Yep, the price goes up with that. Is the bottom of your wedding dress beaded? Guess what, the price goes up even more… So what does an average bridal hem cost? From our experience you can estimate $150-$250.
THE CUPS: $21-40
(sew in cups)
Cups are one of those things that almost all brides want in their wedding dresses, but rarely think about before their bridal alterations appointment. The cost to put cups in will vary slightly but you can pretty much expect to pay in the $20-$40 range.

Who should I bring?
Due to COVID restriction we ask that you only bring one trusted friend or family member with you. If your gown has a long train, invite your maid of honor to the final fitting so she can learn how to bustle your gown for the big day.

Gown Pressing
Our alterations services include a professional press and steam. If you're planning to have your dress altered elsewhere, we will steam your garment's outer layer before it leaves our store.
Pressed items are typically picked up by the bride the week of the wedding. If someone else will be picking up your items in your place, you will need to sign a Merchandise Release form. Please fill one out at one of your appointments or call Customer Service and one can be faxed or emailed to you. No gown will be released without written permission.
At the time of your first fitting you will be asked to arrange a pressing pick-up date.
